Hey hey! So I also submitted my writing samples as per the chat between G and SL below, and hey, whaddya know... most of my stuff also came up as "David Foster Wallace," which, lets face it, is 1) a little boring and 2) not true.
It's like going to karaoke night and being told that your singing style most resembles Gloria Gaynor. Perhaps, I thought, DFW is the only option on the site and no matter what you submit the big guy's gonna come up.
So then I put in an old resume and was told that my writing style most resembles DAN BROWN, which maybe is like being told that my karaoke singing style most resembles that of Joe Cocker.
After a couple more tries and more "I write like David Foster Wallace", I finally hit paydirt with "I write like Cory Doctorow," who can be found here on Wikipedia for all those, like me, who had no idea who the eff he is. A science fiction writing, tech blogging megadork. Now THAT is more like it.
