Catching Elephant is a theme by Andy Taylor
I got to work with Maha while she interned at my glossy very serious publication that I shall never ever mock. Anyway, Maha is soooooo great. She’s hyper intelligent and often serious but also very goofy and oddly innocent seeming for someone who grew up in the world of Manhattan prep academies and very very very thoughtful. Often it’s deep thoughts, and sometimes just careful thoughts about less deep topics. By the time she had “interned” a week she was writing section lead stories and posting on line for us all of the time. She also spoke into the phone at a decibel level that, I swear to god, beat her sources into submission. Love her!
She maintains a blog that is full of lengthy, insightful posts that I often don’t have the attention span to read but am sure would make me a smarter person if I did in fact concentrate a little instead of just clicking over to Page Six.
I like this short post because it’s very Maha. It’s intense. She loves her some soccer. There’s a touch of madness. And she’s ready to engage in debate, albeit a fun and lighthearted debate. And she’ll win. Also, I don’t give a f&#k about the World Cup, so I can live the global love of the game through her.
